Patrick Herold — Site Wiki Overview

Welcome to the wiki for patrickherold.com — my personal corner of the internet based right here in Decatur. This site exists to keep the people I care about in the loop: family and friends who want the real story on what I'm up to, teammates and club contacts who share the field or the hobby bench with me, and fellow enthusiasts who just want to geek out over the same stuff I do. No algorithm standing between us, no corporate polish — just honest updates, travel recaps, gear talk, and the occasional tech rabbit hole.

The catalog right now captures the site's origin story and early infrastructure work. There's the original welcome page laying out the mission, an early test post from way back in December 2012 that came along for the ride during setup, and a fresh workbench update about integrating xAI's Grok image API into the site's plumbing. Small catalog so far, but it reflects exactly how the site operates: personal, hands-on, and always tinkering toward something better.

Over the next 90 days the goal is simple — publish engaging recaps and updates across travel, hobbies, club life, and family milestones, and grow a small but genuinely loyal subscriber base. Think of this wiki as the behind-the-scenes map of how all those pieces connect. If you're a returning reader, a teammate, or a hobbyist who just stumbled in, you're in the right place.

Content priorities run in this order: travel recaps and photos first, then hobby project updates and how-tos, then club and league stories, then family milestones. Local Decatur color and gear recommendations round things out in the middle tier. The voice throughout is playful and warm — first-person, conversational, with enough enthusiast-specific detail that anyone who shares the passion can follow right along.
